## Core concepts

Auto Finance (formerly Tokemak) is a decentralized liquidity management protocol that provides fully autonomous, transparent yield optimization for DeFi liquidity providers. Depositors put assets such as ETH, USDC or other stablecoins into Autopools, which automatically allocate and rebalance that liquidity across established DeFi protocols, DEXs and lending markets.

An Autopool is a smart-contract vault built on the ERC-4626 token standard that holds a diversified set of liquidity positions across decentralized exchanges, lending protocols and liquidity pools. Deposited assets are rebalanced autonomously by the Autopool rebalancing logic to maintain the best available risk-adjusted yield, so depositors earn optimized returns without manually managing positions.

Auto Finance Autopools rebalance by continuously comparing the yield available at every destination they are allowed to hold — liquidity pools on DEXs and supply markets on lending protocols — against the cost of moving. A rebalance only executes when the projected gain from the new allocation exceeds the gas and slippage required to get there, so the vault does not churn capital chasing a difference too small to pay for itself. Because the whole cycle runs on-chain and automatically, a depositor never has to claim rewards, bridge, or re-enter a position by hand.

Auto Finance Autopools currently charge no management fee, no performance fee, no deposit fee and no withdrawal fee, and the yield figures shown on each pool page are net of any fees.
