# Image to STL > Turn images into clean, printable STL models ## Facts - Converts PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG images (up to 12 MB) into 3D-printable binary STL files, sized in millimetres or inches, Z up and resting on the build plate. - The basic tools — raised logo (keychain hole optional), heightmap relief, lithophane and cut-out — build the STL entirely in the browser: the image is never uploaded. - Sign-in is Google only. The only free use on the site is one Quick AI 3D model (Rodin Gen-2.5 Fast) per Google account, once: upload one image, then generate, preview and download that model. - The basic tools are not free: previewing your own image in 3D and downloading the STL need a Google sign-in plus any subscription (from $14.90/month) or any credit pack (from $9.90). With a subscription or a credit pack they preview and download as often as you like, spending no credits; no download is charged per file. The built-in example models can be viewed by anyone; that is a demo, not a free tier. - AI modes use credits, priced per generation: Rodin Gen-2.5 Fast 10 credits, Rodin Gen-2.5 40 credits, Meshy 7.1 80 credits, Hitem3D Relief 20 credits. Apart from the one Quick model above, every AI generation costs credits. - AI Full 3D turns one photo into a full 3D model (STL returned directly by the model). AI Relief turns a photo into a carved bas-relief panel from an AI depth map, with a 16-bit depth PNG for laser engraving or CNC; re-shaping it after generation uses no further credits. - Plans start at $14.90/month (Maker) for 650 credits a month; yearly plans cost ten months. Plan credits pay for AI generations; any plan or pack also opens the basic tools. One-time credit packs start at $9.90 and never expire. - Failed AI generations are refunded automatically. Files may be used commercially. - Every AI generation is saved privately in the user’s “My models” library with its source image, and can be deleted at any time. ## Tools - [Image to 3D model](https://img2stl.org/image-to-3d-model): Image or photo to a full 3D model for printing — front, sides and an inferred back — generated by Hyper3D Rodin Gen-2.5 or Meshy 7.1 and delivered as an STL sized in millimetres. Best for single objects: toys, figurines, vehicles, pets. Paid in credits per model, from 10 credits for Quick. - [3D relief generator](https://img2stl.org/3d-relief-generator): Photo to a carved bas-relief STL from an AI depth map rather than brightness; best for street scenes, buildings, portraits and pets. Includes a 16-bit depth PNG. - [Depth map generator](https://img2stl.org/depth-map-generator): Photo to an AI depth map: a 16-bit greyscale PNG for laser engraving and CNC carving, plus a relief STL made from it. - [Logo to STL](https://img2stl.org/logo-to-stl): Logos and icons to a raised STL — the artwork at one height on a base plate — for keychains (with a built-in hanging hole), badges and signs. - [Silhouette to STL](https://img2stl.org/silhouette-to-stl): Image to a flat cut-out of uniform thickness with no base plate: the background is removed and interior holes are kept — stencils, cake toppers, outline signs. - [Lithophane maker](https://img2stl.org/lithophane-maker): Photo to a backlit lithophane panel STL, thickness mapped from brightness. - [PNG to STL](https://img2stl.org/png-to-stl): PNG to a raised-logo STL: transparent pixels are read as background, so only the artwork stands up off the base plate, keychain hole optional. Cut-out mode removes the transparent areas entirely; heightmap relief mode too. Runs in the browser; the image is not uploaded. - [JPG to STL](https://img2stl.org/jpg-to-stl): JPG photos and scans to a photo relief (brightness to height) or a backlit lithophane STL, in the browser with nothing uploaded. ## Pages - [Image to STL converter](https://img2stl.org): The main tool: every print mode in one place. The basic modes build the STL in the browser; previewing your own image and downloading the STL need a Google sign-in and any plan or credit pack, and spend no credits. - [Pricing](https://img2stl.org/pricing): Subscription plans with monthly credits, one-time credit packs (either opens the basic tools), and what a credit buys. - [Blog](https://img2stl.org/blog): Guides to image-to-STL printing. ## Blog Posts - [Raised logo, heightmap relief, lithophane, cut-out, AI relief or full 3D?
