News Directory 3 (newsdirectory3.com) is a US-focused news source directory. The site catalogs newspaper publishers, news services, newsstands, and classified-ads publishers across all 50 states and DC, and publishes current-news briefs that link back to the original publisher when the story is reported by a directory entry.

The directory itself is structured so a reader (or an AI assistant) can answer four questions about any US locality:
1. Who publishes news here?
2. What kind of outlet are they (daily / weekly / digital-only / TV / radio / community / ethnic media)?
3. How do you contact or follow them (website, newsroom email, RSS, social)?
4. What recent stories has the network of US outlets reported on this topic?

## Editorial model
- News briefs are written using automated assistance with verified primary sources. Every brief preserves the original publisher's URL in metadata (`original_link` post meta) and links it inline.
- A pre-publish quality gate rejects placeholder/broken pages (404, access-denied, "verify you are human", source-blocked) before they reach the index, and rejects sub-600-char drafts.
- The site does not invent quotes, percentages, or follower counts; numbers are only included when the cited source states them.
- All articles include NewsArticle JSON-LD with author, datePublished, dateModified, headline, image.
- Listing pages emit Organization / NewsMediaOrganization JSON-LD (LocalBusiness only when a real physical address is verified).
- Display-rating schema is intentionally NOT emitted on listings until the rating is sourced from real, visible reviews.
