Interactive displays present the significance of mining to the area's history and economy, as well as geographical context for a trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
- [Crabtree Falls](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/crabtree-falls/): Crabtree Falls is accessed by one of two moderate to strenuous routes: 1.8 Miles (round-trip to the falls and back) or 2.5 to 3 Miles (round trip for the whole loop) depending on which route you take to the 60-foot falls. Visitors say, whichever path you take, the view and chance for great photos are worth the climb!
- [Graveyard Fields](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/graveyard-fields/): Graveyard Fields is named for the haunting skeletons of ancient trees punctuating an otherwise grassy field, as seen from above at the Graveyard Fields Overlook. The horizon beyond offers a breathtaking view of surrounding mountains. To call the overlook a vista is an understatement.
- [Mt. Mitchell](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/mt-mitchell/): The highest peak in the eastern United States at an elevation of 6,684 ft, Mt. Mitchell is located in the 1,855-acre Mt. Mitchell State Park. While State Parks are managed separately from National Parks such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Mitchell State Park is only accessible from the Blue Ridge Parkway by taking NC 128 at Milepost 355.4 to the summit. The breathtaking views and climate at the peak make Mt. Mitchell a popular stop for many Parkway travelers.
- [Waterrock Knob](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/waterrock-knob/): An ideal spot for watching sunrise and sunsets across the rugged mountains, Waterrock Knob Visitor Center sits at almost 6,000 feet elevation.
- [Mount Pisgah](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/mount-pisgah/): Mount Pisgah’s spectacular views, hiking trails, picnic area, campground, lodge, restaurant, and country store make this area a popular destination along the Blue Ridge Parkway. For generations, Pisgah has been a popular mountain retreat for travelers. Pisgah Inn & Restaurant attracts many visitors who want to experience the resources of the Parkway from a somewhat comfortable environment. Other visitors use the campground and trails to experience the resources from a different perspective.
- [Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/blue-ridge-parkway-visitor-center/): Visitors traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway can now make one stop to learn about the entire 469 miles and history of the Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center in Asheville, NC offers exhibits on the natural, cultural, and recreational resources of the region.
- [Folk Art Center](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/folk-art-center/): The Folk Art Center showcases the finest in traditional and contemporary craft of the Southern Appalachians. It houses the Southern Highland Craft Guild’s century-old Allanstand Craft Shop, exhibitions in three galleries, a library, auditorium, and a cooperating association book store and Parkway information desk. Guild artisans demonstrate a variety of arts and crafts in the Folk Art Center lobby.
- [Linville Falls](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/linville-falls/): Trails near the Linville Falls Visitor Center lead to the breathtaking three-tiered Linville Falls over the Linville Gorge via both strenuous and moderate hikes. The steep-walled Gorge is known as the "Grand Canyon of the Southern Appalachians."
- [Craggy Gardens](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/craggy-gardens/): Twisted, jagged, rocky “crags” give Craggy Gardens its name, but these high elevation summits are home to the most spectacular floral display along the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway corridor. For generations, visitors have headed for the Craggies in June, typically the prime time for viewing the pink and purple blooms of Catawba rhododendrons that blanket the area.
- [Linn Cove Viaduct](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/linn-cove-viaduct/): The Linn Cove Viaduct hugs the face of Grandfather Mountain and is recognized internationally as an engineering marvel. This was the last section of the Parkway to be completed and a model of the construction technique highlights a visit to the Linn Cove Visitor Center.
- [Julian Price Memorial Park](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/julian-price-memorial-park/): A majestic 4,200 acres at the foot of Grandfather Mountain named in honor of Julian Price comprises this popular park. Julian Price Memorial Park lies directly adjacent to Moses H. Cone Memorial Park. Together these parks make up the largest developed area set aside for public recreation on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
- [Moses H. Cone Memorial Park](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/moses-h-cone-memorial-park/): This country estate was developed during the 1890s and early 1900s by Moses and Bertha Cone, the son and daughter of German and Jewish immigrants. Moses and his brother Caesar established one of North Carolina's largest textile empires during the late 19th and early 20th century.
- [Doughton Park](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/doughton-park/): Renew your senses amid this landscape of open meadows. Doughton Park is one of the best places along the Blue Ridge Parkway to view white-tailed deer, raccoons, red and grey foxes, and bobcats.
- [Cumberland Knob](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/cumberland-knob/): Located near the Virginia state line, Cumberland Knob is the site where construction of the Blue Ridge Parkway began in 1935. - [Humpback Rocks](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/humpback-rocks/): At the northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, Humpback Rocks is perhaps the best representation of the varied combination of natural and cultural resources anywhere along the Parkway corridor.
- [James River & Otter Creek](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/james-river-otter-creek/): Recreational opportunities here include hiking, camping, picnicking and fishing. An accessible fishing pier on Otter Lake provides opportunities for visitors with impaired mobility to fish for warm water species. A pedestrian walkway connects the James River Visitor Center with restored Battery Creek Lock from the Kanawha Canal.
- [Peaks of Otter](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/peaks-of-otter/): With stunning views, natural beauty, and the surrounding Jefferson National Forest, it’s no wonder the Peaks of Otter area has attracted people to the region for more than 8,000 years.
- [Blue Ridge Music Center](https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/poi/blue-ridge-music-center/): The Blue Ridge Music Center is a state-of-the-art performing arts facility built to preserve and promote the historic music of Virginia and the Blue Ridge.
