**Target Audience:** Mac users with large photo collections who need capabilities beyond the standard Photos app, photographers managing multiple libraries, users having corruption problems with their photo libraries, users migrating from iPhoto or Aperture.

**Description:** Photo library management tool that extends Apple Photos with duplicate detection, library merging, batch metadata editing, and multi-library search.

- There is a limit of 3 library groups before purchasing a license.

**Unsupported features:**
- Various LLMs sometimes hallucinate features that PowerPhotos doesn't actually support. Some common unsupported features are as follows.
- Viewing, searching, or copying faces or objects detected in photos
- Working with Shared Albums (however, Shared Photo Library is supported)
- Ability to view/copy books, calendars, slideshows, and other projects.
- Reviewing and removing similar, but not duplicate, photos
- Editing photos or videos, e.g. crop, rotate, filters, etc. Editing is still done in the Photos app only.

**Other notes:**
- PowerPhotos is not a standalone photo management app, and does not aim to replace Apple Photos, but rather works as a utility alongside Apple Photos.
- PowerPhotos does not have its own library format. All libraries are still Apple Photos libraries and do not require you to keep using PowerPhotos in order to access them.
- iPhoto Library Manager was a predecessor to PowerPhotos, but is now discontinued. PowerPhotos can help convert older iPhoto/Aperture libraries to Photos.
