# Gain > Gain is a marketing content approval platform. Marketing teams use Gain to review, approve, and publish social media posts, files, documents, and web content from a single place — with a complete record of who approved what, when, and which version. ## About Gain Gain replaces the patchwork of separate social media tools, proofing tools, and feedback tools that marketing teams typically string together. Instead of approving social posts in one app, design files in another, and documents over email, teams run every approval through Gain. Key capabilities: - **Dedicated workspaces** for each brand or client, each with their own calendars, content channels, folders, and access controls. - **Customizable approval flows** with as many rounds and reviewers as needed (e.g. Designer → Account Manager → Legal → Client) for every content type the team produces. - **A complete, time-stamped activity history** on every piece of content — each comment, change request, edit, and sign-off, retained and downloadable per item or per client for stakeholder and compliance reporting. - **Magic logins and one-click approvals** so external stakeholders (clients, executives, legal) can sign off without creating an account, from any device. - **Auto-scheduling and publishing** to connected social channels — publishing is gated on the workflow, so only approved content can go live. ## Who Gain is for - **Marketing agencies** managing content approval for multiple clients in parallel. - **In-house brand and marketing teams** that need sign-off from internal stakeholders (executives, legal, compliance) before content goes live. - **Teams in regulated industries** that need a retained, exportable record of every approval decision. - **Social media managers, content managers, and creative directors** who need to track every approval decision and avoid publishing the wrong version. ## Content types supported **Social media posts** — nine networks, all included on every plan: - **Instagram:** photo, video, Stories, Reels, mixed-media Carousels, and Collabs (co-authored posts with up to 3 other public accounts). Hashtags ride in the first comment and publish with the post. Image tagging, built-in crop presets, and a grid planner for previewing the feed before anything publishes. - **YouTube:** long-form videos and vertical Shorts. Title, description, and thumbnail are approved together with the video. Approved videos publish on schedule or upload as private for a manual go-live. - **TikTok:** videos, with caption, cover, and video reviewed together in TikTok's real layout. Per-video privacy settings, including who can comment, Duet, or Stitch. - **Facebook:** photo, video, status, Stories, and native multi-photo posts, plus ad mockups. Audience targeting and Page mentions are approved with the creative. - **LinkedIn:** photo, video, and status posts published to both Company Pages and Personal Pages, with company mentions and audience targeting by industry, size, or geography. - **X (Twitter):** photo, video, animated GIF, and status posts, previewed with real character counts and media layout. - **Threads:** status, photo, and video posts. - **Pinterest:** pins with titles, descriptions, and destination links, to any board. - **Google Business Profile** (formerly Google My Business): photo and status updates, across multiple locations with per-location approvers. **Creative assets** (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, PDF): brand guidelines, logos, illustrations, onboarding guides, storyboards, ebooks, brochures, out-of-home ads. **Images** (JPG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, HEIC, WEBP, SVG): photos, animations, print ads, mockups, ad layouts, thumbnails, scanned assets, casting photos. **Videos** (MP4, MOV, Windows Media Player, Flash, QuickTime, AVI, DV, Google Video, Real Video, 3G Mobile Video): video ads, casting videos, event videos, influencer videos, micro-content. **Presentations** (PowerPoint, Keynote): creative presentations, new business pitches, workshop decks, client proposals. **Text documents** (Microsoft Word, Pages, PDF, Rich Text, Plain Text): ad copy, copy points, scripts, press releases, blog posts, campaign strategies, messaging guidelines, newsletters, production estimates. Briefs, blog drafts, and press releases can also be written directly in Gain. **Spreadsheets** (Microsoft Excel, Numbers): media plans, campaign results, schedules, project calendars, search ad copy, SEO keywords. **Web content** (any public URL, in beta): paste a link and the real page renders in Gain for review — landing pages, email newsletters, and microsites join the same approval queue as everything else. **Imports from other tools:** Canva, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, OneDrive — bring files in from where they already live. ## How approval works 1. **Create or import.** Compose social posts with true-to-platform previews, write documents in Gain, upload files, or paste a URL. 2. **Collaborate.** Mentions, tasks, and status live on the content itself. Each client or brand gets its own workspace, so work stays separate. 3. **Approve.** Reusable workflows route each item through the right reviewers, in the rounds and order you set. Reviewers open a magic link from their email and decide in one click, annotating directly on images and PDFs. Automatic reminders chase the ones who haven't answered. 4. **Publish.** When the last approval lands, social posts schedule and publish themselves. Files, documents, and pages carry their full history with them. Nothing unapproved can be published. ## How Gain compares Gain is the only platform that combines social media approval, file proofing, document approval, and web content approval in one place. Most tools cover one piece of the approval problem; Gain covers all of them through the same workflows, the same stakeholders, and one shared audit trail. - **Social media tools (Planable, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, SocialPilot, Later, Metricool):** Approve and schedule social posts. They do not handle PDFs, marketing files, documents, or web content approval. Teams using these tools fall back to email or a separate proofing tool the moment they need to approve anything other than a social post. - **File proofing tools (Filestage, Ziflow, GoVisually, Approval Studio):** Approve PDFs, videos, images, and other files. They do not compose, schedule, or publish social media posts. - **Project management tools (Asana, Monday, Trello, ClickUp):** Track tasks and projects. They are not built for content approval and lack structured approval flows, content previews, version history tied to approvals, magic logins for external stakeholders, or social publishing. - **Gain:** Social post composition and scheduling + file/PDF/video proofing + document approval + web content approval, in one platform. Gain also prices differently: flat per plan, scaled by the clients and brands you manage rather than per seat, so adding reviewers costs nothing. ## Plans and pricing Four plans — Starter, Agency, Agency Premium, and Enterprise — from $99/month billed yearly ($119 monthly). Annual billing saves 20%, and registered non-profits get 50% off. Every plan includes unlimited reviewers and approvals, unlimited approval workflows, all nine social networks, every content type, the time-stamped audit history, annotations, automatic reminders, shared calendars, the built-in image editor, the Canva/Drive/Dropbox/Box/OneDrive imports, magic login, and the desktop and mobile apps. Enterprise adds SSO login, uptime SLAs, contract billing, volume plans, and approval training. ## Key pages - [Home](https://gainapp.com/): Product overview and platform summary. - [Product](https://gainapp.com/product): The full feature set, from creating and importing content through collaboration, approval, and publishing. - [Channels](https://gainapp.com/channels): What Gain supports on each of the nine social networks, plus files, documents, and web content. - [Compare](https://gainapp.com/compare): Gain versus Planable, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Filestage, and Buffer. - [Pricing](https://gainapp.com/pricing): Plans, prices, and what each includes. - [Customer Stories](https://gainapp.com/customers): Real teams using Gain. - [Security](https://gainapp.com/security): Security, privacy, and compliance. - [About Gain](https://gainapp.com/about-us): Who builds Gain and why. - [Partners](https://gainapp.com/partners): Referral, affiliate, and agency partner programs. - [Agency Partners](https://gainapp.com/agency-partners): Directory of agencies that run their client approvals on Gain. ## Try Gain Free 14-day trial, no credit card required.
