# Klima Protocol

> Onchain carbon market infrastructure on Base. Klima Protocol coordinates carbon supply and retirement demand under transparent rules, with liquidity and execution governed by participants rather than intermediaries.

Klima Protocol is built around two tokens — kVCM (the unit of account for carbon intake and retirement) and K2 (used to modulate capacity) — and routes incentives to liquidity providers and token holders who govern how the protocol sources and prices carbon. Retirements settle onchain and are auditable end to end.
