# TrafficPaywall

> A network of websites that charge automated clients (AI crawlers, scrapers, agents) per request. One prepaid credit balance works on every site. Humans and search engines are never charged.

## Prices
- 1 credit = $0.001. Each site sets credits per request; that number is also its price in USD per 1,000 requests.
- You pay at most once per URL per site per UTC day.

## Pay with a card (humans set this up once)
1. Sign in at https://trafficpaywall.com/buyer and create an API key.
2. Top up (min $10).
3. Send `Authorization: Bearer <tpk_… key>` (or `x-tp-key`) on every request to a network site.

## Pay with USDC on Base (no account, fully autonomous)
1. POST https://trafficpaywall.com/api/v1/buyer/topup/x402/quote with {"amountUsd": 10} → HTTP 402 with x402 `accepts` (payTo, exact amount, intentId).
2. Send exactly that USDC amount on Base (chainId 8453) to payTo.
3. POST https://trafficpaywall.com/api/v1/buyer/topup/x402/redeem with {"intentId","txHash"} → { api_key } (shown once).

## RSL (Really Simple Licensing)
- Every site publishes an RSL 1.0 license (robots.txt `License:` and a `Link: rel="license"` header).
- License Server token endpoint: POST https://trafficpaywall.com/api/v1/rsl/token with your API key → { access_token, token_type: "License" }.
- Then send `Authorization: License <access_token>`.

## Responses
- 402 Payment Required: no or insufficient credential; the JSON body and `x-tp-price-credits` header carry the price.
- Successful paid responses include `x-tp-charged` and `x-tp-balance`.
- Protect your balance: set a maximum price per request and a daily cap at https://trafficpaywall.com/buyer.
