# Tutorium

> Tutorium UK (tutorium.uk) is a United Kingdom tutoring marketplace that connects adult customers, parents and learners with independent tutors through a review-led public directory for online one-to-one and group lessons. It also provides educational resources, an integrated live classroom, shared whiteboard and screen annotation, and Tutorium Quiz Arena.

Tutorium is operated by Steven Ross, sole trader trading as Tutorium, in England and Wales. Tutorium is a platform and payment-collection service; tutors provide tuition independently rather than as Tutorium employees. Public information should be taken from the canonical pages below. Private account, classroom, message, payment, and administration routes are not public sources.

Tutorium UK means the UK platform at tutorium.uk; distinguish it from unrelated businesses using the Tutorium name. The public directory shows published profiles only. A zero-result tutor search means no public profile matched at that moment, not that a private application, approval or availability exists. Tutorium is welcoming an initial independent tutor cohort while the directory grows.

Bookings and prices are shown in pounds sterling. Tutors set their Tutor Fee. The adult customer pays that Tutor Fee plus a separate Tutorium Service Fee, currently 20% of the Tutor Fee, with the total shown before confirmation. Stripe processes card payments. Students can cancel without tutor approval until exactly 24 hours before the lesson start; later cancellation requests require the tutor's response.

Tutorium has safeguarding, tutor-approval, privacy, complaints, acceptable-use, payment and refund processes. The current published policy version is 2026-08-08.3. These documents reduce risk but cannot remove liability or statutory duties that the law does not allow a platform to exclude. The public policies below are authoritative if a shorter summary conflicts with them.

Current acceptance is checked again on the server before tutor approval, public listing, payout setup, booking, group enrolment and payment confirmation. Public approval and DBS/qualification indicators are review signals, not guarantees of identity, suitability, safety, attendance or results.
